Newborn sessions with very young babies are usually best suited to the comfort of home or the studio. From around 2-3 months onwards, outdoor sessions can work beautifully, depending on the season and location. Meadows and forest locations tend to work better for smaller babies as sand on the beach can be difficult with very small babies . I’m always happy to advise on what will suit your baby and the time of year best.

Sunset times vary throughout the year, so it helps to consider what works best for your family. June and July have the latest start times, while October to February are usually earlier. Sessions take place year round in the New Forest or at the beach.

Think about who will be part of your outdoor family session, whether that is parents and children, a newborn, grandparents, or even your dog.

Choose from a small number of carefully selected locations across the South Coast, chosen for beautiful golden light and seasonal variety. From sandy beaches to New Forest landscapes and quiet Hampshire meadows, each location complements your sunset session.
Wander Sessions are also available in selected towns and cities for families drawn to story led photography rooted in place.

I am based in Hampshire and photograph at home newborn and family sessions across Hampshire and surrounding areas. Travel details are outlined on my pricing page.
What areas do you cover for at home photography sessions?
For Newborn Photography, The ideal time is within the first three weeks after birth, but sessions can take place at any point during the newborn stage. Older babies are always welcome.
Maternity photogrpahy sessions are best scheduled between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you’re still feeling comfortable. You’re welcome to book as soon as you feel ready.
For milestone or family photogrpahy, I recommend booking as soon as you start thinking about it, especially for weekend dates, which tend to fill up quickly.
When is the best time to book an at home photography session?
Frequently asked questions
Think in layers, movement and tone. Neutral, soft tones photograph beautifully at home , comfortable fabrics and gentle textures that work perfectly in natural light. A considered wardrobe doesn’t need to be elaborate, it simply needs to feel like you. You’ll receive a full preparation guide after booking to help you plan with ease.
What should we wear for an at home family photography session?
Sessions are unhurried and usually last between one and two hours. This allows time for feeding, settling, and natural moments to unfold without pressure. Motherhood and milestone sessions typically last around an hour, family sessions around two hours, and extended family sessions between two to three hours depending on numbers and individual needs. Newborn sessions are fully baby-led, with time for feeding, settling and breaks as needed. There’s never any rushing, and I won’t be watching the clock if a little extra time is needed.
How long does an at home newborn or family session last?
You’ll receive a preview gallery within seven days. Your full gallery will be ready within around four weeks, with the option to select images and view upgrades. Upgrade collections begin from £195
When will we receive our images From Our AT Home Family Photograpahy Session?
How do we book an at home photography session?
That’s completely okay. I work with children all the time and I’m a mum to three children myself, two of whom have additional needs. I understand that every child is different, and there’s never any expectation for them to sit still or perform.
Children are free to move, play and be themselves. I’ll gently follow their lead, offering space when it’s needed and guidance when it helps. Some of the most meaningful moments come from simply letting things unfold naturally, just as they are.
What if my children don’t cooperate for our at home family Photoshoot ?
No. Your home does not need to be perfect, but it does need to feel calm and uncluttered enough for natural light and movement. Before your session, I will guide you on which rooms work best and how to prepare simply.
Does my house need to be perfect for an at home photography session?
Most sessions take place in one or two light filled rooms, often a bedroom, living room, or nursery. We keep things simple and move only where the light works best.
What rooms do you usually use during an at home session?
Absolutely. Siblings are always welcome and encouraged to be part of the session in a relaxed, natural way.
Can siblings be included in an at home newborn photography session?
