Rooted on the South Coast, my outdoor newborn and family photography sessions take place across Hampshire and the surrounding counties, including Dorset and West Sussex. Held at golden hour, these sessions use soft natural light and open spaces to create calm, connection led photographs that feel relaxed and timeless.
Using stunning beaches, meadows and wide open landscapes, each session is designed for families who want space to breathe, move and simply be together, capturing the beautifully imperfect and joy filled moments that unfold when children are free to be themselves.
Outdoor sessions are gently guided, never forced. I work at a calm, relaxed pace, allowing each session to unfold naturally and using soft, flattering light to create images that feel honest, timeless and full of feeling.
Some families arrive ready to cuddle, explore and laugh. Others lean into quieter moments and gentle closeness needing more time. Both are equally welcome. Each session unfolds naturally, shaped by you needs, your connection and the light as it changes around us.
If this feels like the right fit, I would love to hear from you.
Relaxed and full of movement, perfect for families who love being outdoors. These sessions allow children to explore, run and play, with space for natural connection and shared moments.
Soft, emotive sessions that focus on closeness and connection, set against gentle light and open landscapes. Ideal for mums who want something natural and unforced.
Ideal for bringing larger families together in a spacious outdoor setting. These sessions are unhurried and flexible, allowing natural interactions across generations.
Newborn sessions with very young babies are usually best suited to the comfort of home or the studio. From around 2-3 months onwards, outdoor sessions can work beautifully, depending on the season and location. Meadows and forest locations tend to work better for smaller babies as sand on the beach can be difficult with very small babies . I’m always happy to advise on what will suit your baby and the time of year best.
Set across the South Coast and surrounding countryside, my outdoor sessions take place among beaches, meadows and open landscapes throughout Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex. Each location is carefully chosen by me, guided by the season, the direction of the light, sunset timing and the pace that best suits your family, creating space for calm, connection and moments that feel natural and unhurried.
Whether we’re walking along the shoreline as the light softens, wandering through long grasses, or following forest paths at golden hour, I approach each outdoor newborn and family photography session with ease, care and intention. These relaxed outdoor photography sessions are shaped by light, movement and connection, with gentle guidance offered where it helps and plenty of space for moments to unfold naturally. I work with the rhythm of the outdoors rather than against it, preserving the warmth, atmosphere and feeling of the moment through thoughtful, natural editing.
Each outdoor family photography gallery is created with the years ahead in mind. Photographs to return to when the details begin to fade, the mid-laugh glances, the quiet in-between moments, the way your child’s hand found yours. Images that hold not just how it looked, but how it felt to be together in that season of family life.

For Newborn Photography, The ideal time is within the first three weeks after birth, but sessions can take place at any point during the newborn stage. Older babies are always welcome.
Maternity photogrpahy sessions are best scheduled between 28–34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully defined but you’re still feeling comfortable. You’re welcome to book as soon as you feel ready.
For milestone or family photogrpahy, I recommend booking as soon as you start thinking about it, especially for weekend dates, which tend to fill up quickly.
Outdoor family photography sessions usually start around an hour and a half before sunset. This is when the light is soft, warm, and most flattering, allowing space for natural movement and connection.
Sunset times change throughout the year and can be as early as 2:30 pm in winter and as late as 8:30 pm in summer. If you are unsure what time would work best, just get in touch and I will happily advise.
The exception is my "wander sessions", which take place in city centres and are more documentary in feel, walking and exploring together. These can be scheduled throughout the day.
I work at a small number of carefully chosen outdoor locations across the South Coast, including beaches, meadows and woodland spaces that offer beautiful light and space for families to explore. These locations have been tested over time for consistency and calm. I am also happy to travel to a meaningful location by enquiry, with travel discussed in advance. This includes city or village wander sessions.
If you are unsure, I will guide you based on the look you love, the season, and how your children enjoy being outdoors. Some locations are better suited to toddlers who love to roam, while others work beautifully for quieter, slower paced sessions.
Outdoor sessions are always weather dependent. If conditions are unsuitable due to heavy rain, strong winds or unsafe conditions, your session will be rescheduled at no extra cost. Light cloud is absolutely fine and often creates beautiful, soft light.
I recommend neutral, earthy tones that complement the natural surroundings and photograph beautifully in outdoor light. It is important to dress for the weather, choosing layers if it is cooler, but avoiding bulky or cumbersome coats that can distract from the overall feel of the images. Even during the summer months, beach sessions can feel chilly in the evenings due to the wind coming in off the sea, so light layers that fit your colour palette are always a good idea. After booking, you will receive a style guide to help with outfit choices, textures and colour combinations. Simple, comfortable clothing always works best.
Most outdoor sessions last around 1-2 hours. This allows time for children to settle, explore and be themselves without feeling rushed. The focus is on quality, connection and natural interaction rather than posed perfection.
I offer gentle guidance where needed, particularly at the start, but outdoor sessions are led by movement, play and connection. Children are encouraged to explore, cuddle, walk, run and simply be themselves while I document the moments that unfold naturally. Some families prefer more direction and posing, while others are happiest being observed with minimal input. Every family is different, and I will always work with you to find an approach that feels comfortable and natural for you.
You’ll receive a preview gallery within seven days. Your full gallery will be ready within around four weeks, with the option to select images and view upgrades. Upgrade collections begin from £195
This is completely normal and expected. Outdoor sessions are designed to work with children, not against them. There is no pressure for anyone to perform or behave a certain way. Some of the most meaningful images come from quiet moments, cuddles or curiosity rather than smiles at the camera.
Extended family sessions are available and are best suited to larger outdoor spaces. These sessions include additional time to allow multiple family groupings to be photographed comfortably and without rushing.
You will receive a carefully curated online gallery of hand edited, high resolution images. Galleries are delivered within the timeframe outlined in your booking information, with the option to upgrade if you would like more images. As every session is unique, I do not offer a fixed image count. The final number can vary depending on factors such as how many people are present, how children engage on the day, the weather and the chosen location. That said, most families receive at least 60 images.
For the best results, outdoor sessions are scheduled close to sunset. Midday or early afternoon light can be harsh and may limit locations or shooting options, particularly during the summer months. If sunset timing is not suitable, I recommend considering an at home or studio session instead.
Wander sessions, my signature documentary style sessions set in beautiful towns and cities such as Winchester, Alresford, Romsey, London and the Cotswolds, can take place throughout the day. These locations allow us to use buildings, streets and shaded areas to work around harsher light. That said, during the summer months I still recommend evening timings where possible, as towns tend to be quieter and the light softer.
